Burning is just entertainment
As the "court" section of the RUSSIAN_MEDDLING witch hunt fades out, we're left to observe the real goals of every witch hunt.

The purpose is not to burn witches. That's just bonus jackoff time for the persecutors. The real goal is to remove confidence and support from the people who may have been associated with the witches, or may have looked on the witches with anything less than 100% arsonist passion.

The main line of the "court" section was nominally aimed at burning Trump, but didn't get anywhere near him. The real purpose was achieved. Trump had been only 99.9% negative toward Russia during the campaign. Now he's 500000000 quintillion percent MORE murderous than Obama, and perhaps even SLIGHTLY more genocidal than Hillary, though that's a high bar.

A secondary line of the "court" action concluded today with the burning of Maria Butina. She was a LOBBYIST for Russian interests, working with the NRA for reasons that aren't clear. It looks like she was trying to set up more NRA-like organizations in Russia, which means that she was effectively lobbying for NRA, not for Russia.

The black-robed demon ended up convicting Butina on some indirect process charge as usual, and she will have to serve another 9 months in solitary for the "crime" of trying to coordinate self-defense activists in two countries. Meanwhile, the demon media continue to describe her as a spy.

The real goal of this action was to neuter the NRA, not to burn Butina. She's just jackoff time for the persecutors. Exactly as Trump has fallen in line with Deepstate, the NRA's activities have weakened considerably in the last year or so. Most responsible commentators have observed that NRA is no longer working for the side, so they are no longer recommending support for NRA.

Mission accomplished!

The most important public spokesman for self-defense is now afraid to breathe, leaving only the less "responsible" and more tinfoilable players in the game.

When NRA is outlawed, only outlaws will have self-defense organizations.

Hmm. Sounds familiar for some reason.

Semi-relevant sidenote: Maria is handling this properly, unlike Assange. As always, Russians are realists. They understand that "rights" do not exist, and that the best way to do your duty is to wriggle out of a tyrant's grasp as fast as possible. If Maria had followed the Assange method, she'd spend the rest of her life in jail delusionally assuming that "rights" must triumph, while awaiting the next utterly meaningless appeal or hearing, while her supporters continued to lose their money in futile "defense" motions.
