1910 comes around again
I don't keep close track of partisan soap opera, but the picture on this ZH item caught my attention.
AOC.gif vs Pelosi.mp3. Total lively expression vs bronze statue.
AOC.gif is the first national politician who grew up in emoji and Instagram and selfies. Communication solely by facial expression, with optional sound. Her face does all the talking.
Pelosi.mp3 was born in 1940. Newspapers and radio were the main media, plus movies if you could afford them. TV wasn't widespread until Pelosi.mp3 was 16. Her face operates in radio mode. It moves to emit words, but it's not really participating in communication.
Pelosi.mp3's mother, growing up with silent films, probably had more in common with AOC.gif.
