Box depot with story
Latest item at KSHS is a simple photo jampacked with 'writable' narrative. It's one of those little
box depots serving as a whistlestop for Tecumseh, just east of Topeka.
A magnificent locomotive has pulled to a stop to pick up a man who looks like the local banker heading off to a convention. His suitcases are stacked in front, and he has casually parked his '41 Caddy Series 61 coupe in the field next to the track.
All four objects ... box depot, locomotive, smalltown banker, Caddy ... are now vanished and valuable. At the time of the picture all four were just ordinary stuff.
Later thought: The Caddy might have steered my imagination toward banker. The man doesn't really look starched enough for a banker. Maybe a store manager.
