Dreams getting silly
Dream in this afternoon's nap.
I was re-evaluating the theme song of the Monkees, which goes like this:
Hey hey we're the Monkees,
We're comin to your town,
We love foolin and failin,
Or just messin around.
Hmm, I pondered. This would indeed be an ideal theme song for Experimentalists in our War of Rebellion against the Theorists.
Well, that's not how the song goes.
I looked it up. We may be comin to your town is the last line, but the other stuff isn't there at all. In fact the song's message is that the Monkees are hard-working Type A workaholic entertainers who never fail and have no time for messin around.
Still, the Experimentalists could use a theme song. Not this one.
Literary sidenote:
We may be comin to your town is a peculiarly legalistic line for a rock song. Presages the audio fine print of modern infomercials.
