What's that blue stuff on the map?
ZH features a severe water shortage in Cape Town. The commenters make the usual assortment of pointless points but miss the FUCKING OBVIOUS.
Cape Town is ON THE FUCKING OCEAN. When you are ON THE FUCKING OCEAN, you don't need to depend on variable rainfall and leaky dams. Desalination has been around for thousands of years. It requires more energy than a dam, but after you get it running your water supply is essentially infinite.
Los Angeles has the same idiotic "problem". Los Angeles is also ON THE FUCKING OCEAN, but continues to steal expensive water from the Northwest instead of using the FUCKING OCEAN.
