Fraudulent blackmail
An odd sort of fake blackmail is emerging in recent political nonsense.

First case: The document about Saudi involvement in 9/11. Supposedly several Congressmonsters had read it and seen the 'smoking gun'. Instead of simply TELLING US WHAT'S IN THE DOCUMENT, these Congressmonsters tried to mobilize public pressure on Deepstate to declassify the document. Everyone knows that Deepstate never declassifies anything, so the mobilization was guaranteed to be futile, and the Congressmonsters were then free from real pressure to tell the truth.

Second case: Congressmonsters are telling us that they have seen a memo about the GPS Fusion mess which will expose the Clinton mob's involvement. Another 'smoking gun'. Instead of simply TELLING US WHAT'S IN THE DOCUMENT, they are mobilizing the useful idiots to pressure Deepstate toward releasing the document. Again everyone knows that Deepstate never releases anything, so the Congressmonsters are now free from pressure to tell the truth.

In plain old honest blackmail, A knows something about B that B wants to conceal. A forces B to pay for the service of keeping the secret.

These weird deals look something like blackmail on the surface. Congressmonsters know something about Deepstate that Deepstate wants to conceal.

An honest blackmailer would give Deepstate two choices. Reveal the secret or we'll zero out your budget.

The public would win. If Deepstate revealed the secret to keep its budget, the public would see that "9/11" was a total fraud committed by Deepstate, and the public would see that "Russian interference" is a total fraud committed by Deepstate. If Deepstate decided to keep the secret, it would lose its official budget and would have to fall back on its profitable but unreliable finance-sector rackets.

But that's NOT what happens in these weird little arrangements.

The public pressure looks like punishment applied to Deepstate. IN FUCKING FACT Deepstate isn't bothered at all by public opinion. IN FUCKING FACT Deepstate gains useful information about the mobilized idiots, making the next pogrom more convenient.

Deepstate wins double, and the Congressmonsters gain credit for being whistleblowers while loyally advancing the purposes of Deepstate.
