Manweller's Mayweather
The guy who runs Spokane News tries to offer 'open questions' now and then.
He asked for opinions on tonight's Sport Event. Who will win the game or whatever it is?
Most of the answers are correct. "Who Gives A Flying Fuck?" or "ESPN".
Got me thinking. How far down do you have to go to find a fight or game or election or choice that ISN'T completely rigged?
The cats yowling and hissing in the front yard right now are unrigged. The crows arguing over who saw the walnut first are unrigged.
Every human fight or battle or protest is rigged. There's always one side that controls the rules, one side that can
decide who wins regardless of the physical or verbal outcome. If you're not on that side you know it. Your only survivable choice is to stay home. Don't RSVP the invitation to JOIN the fight.
More importantly the best thing you can do FOR YOUR SIDE is to refuse the invitation, because the rulemaking side will use your
presence as a pretext to slaughter people on your side who DID refuse the invitation.
Manweller's rule. Real elections are only allowed when they don't matter.
Later: Another tiresome 1969 comparison. Hippies used to quote the slogan "What if they gave a war and nobody came?" It was a good slogan. Now the hippies are making the war so they don't use the slogan. It's still a good slogan.
