I was curious to see if Trump's alleged "add one, subtract two" rule for Federal regulations was having any effect.
Compared the Federal Register for this Monday versus the same week a year ago. (7/17/2017 vs 7/18/2016.) I didn't feel like reading the whole 150 pages of each, but a quick scan shows little difference in quantity and detail. No retractions or deletions in this Monday.
Instead, we see the Dept of Ag
creating an entire new subdepartment to handle Trump's executive order on reducing regulations.
A department of redundant departments department.
The new department will be tasked with developing regulations for reducing regulations, taking public comments on the regulations for reducing regulations, and analyzing public comments on the regulations for reducing regulations.
