I guess they're right
Now that Hillary's delegate numbers finally agree with Dynastic Succession, all the headlines are calling her nomination HISTORIC.
By HISTORIC they mean a First, a break with previous patterns. Presumably they're talking about gender in the usual bizarre delusional multiply self-contradictory way. Hillary is the first "woman" to take over a dynasty. First gentle nourishing delicate wispy loving maternal figure.
Wrong use of HISTORIC. When we say an equation is mathematical we don't mean it breaks out of all previous math. We mean it follows the rules of math. When we say a procedure is surgical we don't mean it violates all existing medical practices. We mean it follows the rules of good medical practice.
Actual history gives us a clear pattern. Female monarchs are always more tyrannical and imperialistic than male monarchs in the same dynasty. Hillary fits the historical pattern laid down by Cleopatra, Boadicea, Elizabeth I, Victoria, Catherine, Indira Gandhi, Madame Mao, Golda Meir, and Angela Merkel. Empire builders. Butchers.
So in fact she is HISTORIC in the proper sense of the word. Not breaking the pattern but continuing the pattern.
