This is fun!
Currently 'building' a second Poser set related to interurbans. First one was a Healing Springs resort with an interurban line leading to it. This second set is focused on the power aspect of interurbans. Typically a street railway brought both transportation and electricity to a city.
Destinations were often designed to show off electricity itself, along with recreation, food and fun. I'm copying a building from Dellwood Park in Joliet.
The tower had an appealing light pattern. Not much info remains, so I can't tell if the light display was animated... but animation was possible with technology of the time. Basically a player piano with electric contacts reading the roll and energizing banks of relays.
The technology COULD have done something like this, using May Aufderheide's Dusty Rag for an equally plausible player roll:
Damn, this is FUN!

Tech note: Getting the embedded video to play was NOT fun. Blogspot now requires https for embeds, and most browsers now require WEBM format for html5 video. Had to move the video to my Dropbox to get an https on the source, and then had to convert it from MP4 to WEBM using ffmpeg.
