Why was Trump able to go from impossible to presumptive in less than a year?
Simple. I've made this point in connection with
selling and
marketing often. The Repooflicans were violating ALL rules of selling, and Trump was following the rules. Shouldn't have been a surprise.
Realized today that it also applies to teaching.
All solutions are innate. When people see a general class of problem they have a pretty good idea how to solve it. They may not be able to accomplish the solution because it requires mass action or mass money, but they still know what's needed.
The job of a teacher or salesman is
(1) Isolate a real-life familiar problem.
(2) Show how this problem relates to the product you're selling or the skill you're developing.
(3) Let the students or customers develop the solution for themselves, using the product or skill.
In teaching this requires lab work; in selling it requires a sample or demonstrator product.
In politics you don't have the luxury of a lab or sample, but you do have solutions that have already been tried with success. Skills that are already developed and available.
Problem: Outsourcing. Solution KNOWN TO WORK: Tariffs.
Problem: Government starting endless pointless wars. Solution KNOWN TO WORK: Stop.
Problem: Immigrant criminals. Solution KNOWN TO WORK: Wall.
Problem: Bankers monopolizing the economy. Solution KNOWN TO WORK: Jail.
FDR did the lab work for us. We simply have to repeat.
