1896 cherrypicker
For fun and sanity I'm "building" a CG model of an 1890-ish Springs Resort. One of those
middle-class Midwest resorts that disappeared when the middle-class was killed by the 1893 Panic.
Work in progress obviously .... need moar trees for backdrop.
Spas were typically out of town, accessible by an interurban line. Often the spa was built specifically to provide a desirable terminus, followed (hopefully) by suburban development along the line.
While "building" the interurban car I've been happily immersed in interurban stuff. Here's an unexpected WTF oddity:
The Hurry-Up Wagon was dispatched to a derailed or crashed or dewired car. The wagon held all the tools needed to remount the car, and the tower had the tools needed to fix a broken wire.
Who are the workmen? That's obvious. Meet Mr Hurry and Mr Up.
