No slopes
We have this case in national news, and this in Wash. Both are 9-year-olds who are actually male. Both were surgically altered BY THE PARENT in a permanent way. Both parents are using the surgically altered kid as a weapon to push changes in law and culture.

The most obvious point is that a 9-year-old knows nothing about sex. Maybe the boy said something about wanting to be a girl or wondering what life was like for girls. Maybe the kid didn't say anything, and all of the action is in the parent's head. We don't know anything about the reasons. We only know that the PARENT got a doctor to remove pieces of the kid's body that were not cancerous or infected. You can't replace a removed part.

As I've mentioned before, there are no more slippery slopes, no more subjunctives. Satan's actions are instant and hair-trigger now.

What is the purpose of these pushes? Easy. Lead to the next step, which will come immediately.

Kid is feeling low because he can't play football very well. "I hate my throwing arm. I wish it was gone."

Presto! Parent takes him to a transing doctor and removes the arm. [This has already happened with adults; I don't know that it's happened with a kid yet, but I wouldn't bet against it.]

Kid is feeling low in general. "I hate my life. I wish I was never born."

Presto! BANG! No more life to hate. [This is already happening EN MASSE with older adults. Again I don't know if it's happened with a kid, but no bets.]

Just as these two parents in the news took a physically normal kid and FORCIBLY transed him into a Person Of Gender, the BANG parent will take a living kid and FORCIBLY trans him into a Person Of Rigor.

There is no line, no slope. Exactly the same "logic".

Later thought, maybe for clarity: Sane cultures have always made room for human variation. Look at the Old Testament, for fuck's sake. Hardass Esther, soft indecisive Job. These 'accommodations' were done without removing or implanting body parts. They were also done without INSISTING that other people must BECOME like Esther and Job. When you start with the basic obvious truth that PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT, everything works. When you start with the basic lethal lie that PEOPLE ARE IDENTICAL, you have to play the Procrustes game. Modify people physically or mentally to fit the IDENTICAL mold, or kill them if they refuse to modify.
