John Crump says his neighbors dog Bones went missing in September. He helped him look for it, but when they found Bones they were shocked. "It was a dump site," Crump explains. Along with Bones' body, they found the skeletal remains of other dogs in the mountains near the Canadian border. They says Bones had been shot three times with a high-powered rifle. Crump ... discovered that dozens of owners had found their dogs dead. He estimates as many as 90 dogs have been killed so far, and says dogs in the area continue to go missing. It's a truly tragic story, but leading off with the bones of Bones makes it hard to suppress a laugh, hard to take it seriously.
