No retronym yet
It appears that ZIRP has become permanent and unbreakable, moving soon into permanent NIRP, and after that into permanent CIRP and HIRP.
HIRP, Hypercomplex interest, will be the endpoint because it's infinitely expandable and infinitely attractive to the people who run the system. There is one "real" axis, which will always remain zero, and a potentially infinite number of "imaginary" axes. The constant-zero "real" axis, denoted j
0, is obviously the interest paid to non-j unpersons. The other axes, j
1 through j
n for ever-increasing n, are the counterfeit interest paid to various castes of j.
However! So far I don't see the linguistic sign of permanence for ZIRP and its demonic descendants. When a new idea becomes permanent, it loses its name, and the PREVIOUS system requires a retronym. Acoustic guitar, film camera, terrestrial radio, mixed-gender marriage. We'll know that the ZIRP trajectory is well and truly launched when we start seeing PIRP.
We also haven't seen a retronym process for real value vs counterfeit value. Physical cash is quickly turning illegal. Soon any representation of real labor-origin value, even via checks or digital accounts, will be illegal. Only pure numbers generated by the Central Bank and distributed directly to the non-zero axes will be real.
Currently we still have the correct term
counterfeit for the j
1 through j
n axes. This will need to disappear, and a new retronym for labor-generated value will need to appear.
By etymology, counterfeit = contrafactum = MADE in opposition (to the law). Since MAKING itself is now illegal, counterfeit would be the perfect description for real labor-origin value, but retronyms don't work that way. After Satan claims a word, you can't take it back.
