The Freedom From Religion Foundation, however, has said the U.S. Supreme Court has never ruled on the constitutionality of the issue. "Until the question is decided by the nation’s highest court, police agencies should focus on their secular duties, not on messages that exclude people who are not religious", said Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the foundation. "In a time when citizens nationwide are increasingly distrustful of police actions, it is frightening and politically dubious to announce to citizens that law enforcement officers rely on the judgment of a deity rather than on the judgment of the law," Gaylor said in a statement.Dead wrong, Satan. Among the people likely to have contact with a cop, only psychopathic killers are not Christian. A psychopath doesn't need an external God because he IS God. This type is rare, and typically gets caught only once. His crimes are so massive that he always ends up in prison or asylum for life.... unless, of course, he has the right sort of name, in which case he ends up as a bank CEO or head of the Federal Reserve, where his massive crimes are officially defined as "God's work" ... thus apparently proving that he was right. The 'regular customers' for cops, black and white and Mexican, are all INTENSELY CHRISTIAN. This includes the Vibrant Protesters who listen to Prophet Sharpton and distrust cops. [It appears that those protesters don't represent the majority of blacks, judging by the quiet backlash.] The 'regular customers' aren't going to be bothered by the motto, and some may even be slightly reassured if they're not too drunk to read. As usual I apologize to poor old Satan for blasphemously associating his name with ACLU types, who have passed infinitely beyond all conceivable circles of Hell.
