Carson's fountain of idiocy
Carson continues to provide ammunition for the other side by saying stuff that he's heard, without stopping to think. By now it's clear that he simply doesn't know how to think carefully.
Today he's parroting a standard NRA point, that Hitler wouldn't have taken over Germany if Germans had been armed.
Some NRA points are strongly valid. The 'only outlaws' line is a tremendous truth about human nature, applicable far beyond guns.
This line doesn't work.
Plain fact: Successful dictators are successful because they RULE WITH THE CONSENT OF THE PEOPLE. We know that Hitler was successful because Krauts fought hard for his purposes.
Guns are not a relevant variable in either direction. There's no pattern. Russians were well-armed in Stalin's time. Iraqis were EXTREMELY well-armed in Saddam's time, as our idiot Army found out. Russians used their weapons FOR Stalin. Iraqis used their weapons AGAINST the invader (us), and didn't shoot Saddam even after he was deposed and hiding. (I can't quite say they were fighting FOR Saddam.)
Our post-1989 "government" clearly does NOT rule with the consent of the people, and there's no way an armed populace could do anything about it. We don't have nukes and the "government" does.
