A little more on Tanh vs Exp

The activists EXPect their actions to be EXPonential. They assume more action will lead to more results, to more action, to more results, more action....
EXP always fails. EXP is pure myth, pure math. You can do EXP in an equation or a computer simulation. Now that our "economy" is entirely run in a computer simulation, EXP provides infinitely increasing "riches" for the Chosen. But Nature never does EXP, even when you think you're forcing her to do EXP. At best Nature does TANH; often Nature tells you to fuck off, or kills you. Even when you get to repeat your idiocy for a while, sooner or later it fails.
When the actual result fails to go up EXPwise, activists must blame someone else for applying a counterforce, because the idea of natural limitation or natural feedback is absent from the activist brain.

EXP is the reigning myth of imperialists, because the only way to make EXP happen in physical reality is to conquer new territory all the time. Manifest destiny, Lebensraum, Rebensraum, Making The World Safe For Democracy. Sooner or later it fails catastrophically.
Tanh countries generally don't expand. If expansion is necessary, they will expand by purchase instead of conquest, because they know that purchased territory is more likely to stick around and more likely to be profitable.
