Now we see.
I was mystified by the Hatton Garden theft earlier this year. It didn't make a lick of sense as burglary. Everything was wrong.
(1) A group of OLD guys. Burglary is strictly a young man's game.
(2) Old guys who had never done a crime before. Burglary is a VOCATION.
(3) Good execution of the Tool Time part, but no thought for fencing or disposing of the loot. EVERYONE KNOWS that exclusive jewelry is totally documented and recorded. This has been true forever, and is even more powerfully true in the age of digital cameras. These old guys couldn't have been ignorant of the facts, but they went ahead anyway.
The job smelled like inside action with a financial purpose. The old guys had to be paid pawns. I thought maybe one of the depositors needed an insurance claim to get out of bankruptcy, but that didn't happen. I was still mystified.
Now we see the inside purpose!
The Hatton Garden safety deposit box company that was raided in a £10 million jewel heist in April has gone into liquidation after its trade dried up. Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Ltd, owned by Sudanese father and son Mahendra and Manish Bavishi, called in liquidators last week after it became insolvent as a result of the damage caused to its reputation by the raid.
Mahendra and Manish Bavishi. Hindoos working in a business reserved for Jews.
