I don't get it.
For a long time I resisted installing AdBlockers on Firefox. I believe in paying for stuff, and I figured that viewing the ads was how you pay for good content. Subscription SHOULD be how you pay, but subscription doesn't work on the web.
Finally a few weeks ago I gave in and installed AdBlocker. Why?
Because the content SIMPLY WASN'T AVAILABLE when the ads were allowed. Several useful websites like ZeroHedge were popping up so many layers of high-memory video ads, so relentlessly and rapidly, that the actual text was never reachable. I could see the hard-disk churning over and over while the memory usage piled up.
Why do advertisers do this? Why do they FORCE people to eliminate their ads? I don't get it.
