Like Stalin or like Kim? 1
Mattingly at GetReligion notes the usual "soul-searching" "debates" among Satan's media. Did we cover "marriage" objectively? And as always on such subjects, the answer will be:
No! We failed miserably! We gave a huge monstrous ZERO time to the Incorrect side and only a tiny eentsy-weentsy 100% of our words and emotions to the Correct side. THIS UNBALANCE IS UNACCEPTABLE! INTOLERABLE! ALL OPTIONS ON THE TABLE! Next time we must be BALANCED! We must give MORE THAN ALL to the Correct side and LESS THAN ZERO to the Incorrect side!
As always, the Robust Debate is an auction, bidding up genocide exponentially. There is never a downbid and the auctioneer never halts the auction. We simply pause for breath and resume the next Robust Debate from the top bid.
Leads me to ask.....
In some monstrous tyrannies we have clear evidence that actual disagreement was permitted within Party circles. Stalin and Khrushchev didn't always zoom off the end of every spectrum. In war or economics or inquisition, they found compromise policies, stopped long before they endangered Russia's own survival. S and K especially allowed scientists, and science students, to engage in real debate on scientific topics, because they understood that science needs real debate. When a scientist working on nukes publicly agitated against the regime, he was in trouble; but that's a rational policy for any country.
By contrast, Kim 3 doesn't like the tiniest argument among his inner circle. He kills suspected heretics with giant artillery barrages before they even have a chance to speak words that are not the exact words of Dear Leader. The result is NOT survival of the state. Without constant support from China, NK would have failed a long time ago.
Who do we resemble? Especially in science?
