Satan resigns
Satan hasn't been the Big Boss since Roy Cohn's 1986 LBO of Hades LLC, but until now he's been contented with his nominal chairmanship.
Now he's finally had it.

Memo to YHWH:
I hereby resign as Chairman of Hades.
Things have been getting out of control on our Earth. In previous years evil was generally identified as such, and it was opposed and ended by your types. The physical and punitive resources of Hades could handle the resulting populations.
Recently the humans who are destined for Hades have perfected Negative Learning and Rebranding to such a degree that natural self-limiting and earthly punishment have disappeared from the formerly Christian countries. My quality-assurance coordinator Screwtape tried to warn them, but they didn't listen. These monsters will be uncontrollable residents of Hell.
Here is what finally triggered my decision:

Distelmans is a palliative doctor from Brussels -- a physician who helps people die. He's nervous. He didn't sleep well and he was up early. The prospect of visiting Auschwitz makes him feel uneasy. ... Some 70 people gradually gather around Distelmans. The group consists of doctors, psychologists and nurses from Belgium, most of whom work in the area of euthanasia. One of them is Eric Vandevelde, who during the course of his career has killed 20 people at their own request even as he helps women give birth every day. He's accompanied by his wife Colette, who was instrumental in introducing Belgium's euthanasia law 12 years ago. In Auschwitz he intends to reflect with them on the meaning of "death with dignity".
