Folk tales
Global Warming has become the modern equivalent of Nail Soup.
In this strange folk tale you have to start with Climate Change as the sole cause of your problem. Doesn't matter what the problem is. War, earthquakes, extinctions, hunger, bee shortage. Then you toss in a bunch of other things. In the real world these other things would be the obvious and factual causes of your problem. Power-hungry dictators, tectonic plates, poachers, poor farming techniques, parasitic mites. But in the folk tale those other things are just optional condiments or garnishes. Climate Change is always the first and only cause.
The Nail is what makes the soup. Even after you take out the Nail, it's still Nail Soup.
