The O'Sullivan Mechanism
This week's tempest between the Komen Foundation and Planned Parenthood illustrates how O'Sullivan's Law works.
O'Sullivan observed that every national office of every organization ends up at the extreme Satanist-Leninist end of the political spectrum. Even if all of their members and all of their local offices are normal rational religious people, the national office will rigidly follow the latest hard-left fashions.
We generally assume it's just a groupthink phenomenon: all the NGOs attend the same cocktail parties and feel ostracized if they don't follow the official line.
This week we got a rare chance to see how it really works. When Komen decided to stop funding The Satanist Sacrament Of Abortion, all the knives and whips and chains came out and slashed and flayed Komen into meek submission.
Just now Komen swerved back from Deviationist Road onto Straight And Narrow Path Of Orthodox Satanist Doctrine, but it's probably too late.
Komen's Self-Criticism And Recantation Whimper is perfectly Maoist in form:
"...the Komen Foundation is amending the criteria of its new policy to make clear that it will only bar funding for organizations under investigation if that investigation is criminal and conclusive in nature and not political."
Any departure from orthodoxy is Political by definition. Strict Satanist orthodoxy is non-partisan, non-political, default, unmarked, normal, doesn't need any adjectives or descriptors. ¶ 8:52 AM
