Watch yer back, Cy
NYC district attorney Cyrus Vance jr has
started an investigation of the Emperors. Hope he's ready for an onslaught of career-destroying shit. The last brave fellow who tried to investigate Goldman was brought down by a honeytrap.
The article in the Guardian shows a typical Brit innocence about American matters:
Nevertheless, there's a sense that the US authorities are circling. As Levin himself put it to the FT a couple of weeks ago: "There's real hope that there's going to be a good scrub by a number of law enforcement entities."
Author clearly doesn't understand that Goldman IS the US authorities, therefore any "investigation" run by Goldman against itself will be a coverup. Goldman doesn't own all city and state authorities, so a city or state investigation is the only hope.

Polistra is praying to St Jude, patron of lost causes, for the success of Vance's effort.
And while she's dialed into Saints Central Exchange, she's tacking on a purely selfish prayer of gratitude to the force or fate that kept her from moving back to the Plains last year. (A patron saint of frugality would have been a better target, but apparently there isn't a specific one.)
The impulse to move was strong after two bad winters and lots of wind here in Spokane. It would have been the wrong move at the wrong time. Snow is
removable, and wind is no longer a danger after
cutting down some trees. The Plains have much bigger and much less solvable dangers at this point in the 66-year weather cycle.
