Where's that old American spirit? В Москве.
The Mayor of Moscow has taken control of the elements in a way that used to be described as characteristically American. Yuri Luzhkov has already used cloud-seeding to keep rain away from Moscow during important events. This winter he will be harnessing the same technology to cut down snowfall, thus saving on snowplow work and saving lives.
Bravo!
If an American mayor suggested saving his city from snow, or avoiding a deadly hurricane, he'd be roasted alive. EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW THAT CLOUD-SEEDING WORKS, EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW HOW TO BREAK A HURRICANE, WE ARE NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO THINK ABOUT CONTROLLING NATURE.
