Bravo Sarko!
Bravo Sarko! He was vacationing in New Hampshire, and a couple of American Communists (called, for obscure historical reasons, "journalists") were harrassing him. They were actually following his boat. So Sarko turned around, boarded
their boat and gave them a tongue-lashing in French. Full story
here. This man should be emperor of the world.
However! The most interesting aspect of this story is not Sarko's refreshing behavior. The most interesting thing is that he is in the US, apparently trying to keep a low profile until this incident. Not far from the Bush family retreat at Kennebunkport, which may be relevant.
Why would a French President take his vacation in America, when France has so many excellent resort spots? This gives credence to the growing sensation that something large is about ready to happen, something large enough to require participation of the full Alliance.
Reminds me of the
secret shipboard meeting between Roosevelt and Churchill, near Newfoundland, on
August 5, 1941. The Alliance was set up at this meeting.
