Make war, not IQ tests.
Via NRO, another
success by the FBI. Not many details yet, but a plot to blow up the Holland Tunnel was stopped.
As with the Miami 'Seas of David' bunch, the treatment of this story shows that we have still not switched into wartime thinking. This particular group is treated as trivial because their engineering was flawed. They were hoping to flood NYC by blowing a hole in the Holland Tunnel and letting the Hudson cover the land. Granted, this is truly
Arabic stupid thinking; you don't need to be an engineer to observe that the island is above the water and the tunnel is below.
Remember 1993? That WTC bomb was
fully intended to kill 50,000 people, and was not built stupidly; a different location might have done the job. We effectively ignored it because it didn't happen to work. That bad assumption caused us to sit on our hands until Engineer Osama came along with a plan that did work.
In war you don't have time to give the enemy IQ tests, or to worry about his engineering competence; you can't say that he's not serious because he happens to miss. Almost every bullet and bomb in WW2 missed: by some estimates, 10,000 bullets and 100 bombs were fired for each resulting death.
