Less extinct than thought
Biologists are constantly surprised when "extinct" species turn out to be flourishing in places where the biologists hadn't bothered to look.
My turn to be surprised. In previous item
I mentioned 'private' as one of the categories a train dispatcher needed to know. I ass-u-me-d that private cars were extinct, totally displaced by corporate aircraft in the '50s.

rents and arranges for private cars. Even Amtrak
promotes private cars!
