Positive trend
One current POSITIVE trend is getting plenty of coverage from Chinese sources but not here in USA.
As always, our media is the most opaque and propagandistic in the world.
China became the world's factory after Mao died. Before Mao, China was disorganized and deeply impoverished, not suitable for offshoring. Mao built the infrastructure for industry but misused it. After Mao died, later leaders sent thousands of "students" to learn the latest Western technology and methods, and brought in thousands of investors to take advantage of the newly modernized industry with cheap wages.
Now Mao has risen from the grave. Xi is returning to Maoist principles, making it harder and harder for foreign investors to exploit China and ruin their own countries. Japanese and Korean companies are leaving China FAST, and American companies are starting to join the exodus. Xi's changed policy is a big part of the current supply chain fiasco, which may be the prime driver for reshoring.
Reshoring will definitely be good for the other countries, and may be good for China as well. If China focuses more on serving its own people instead of working them to death, they could break out of the 'Lying Flat' futility.
