Nowism is contradictory but not
Nowism is applied inconsistently... but as usual the inconsistency turns out to be a higher-level consistency.

On one side: We apply today's bizarre GENOCIDAL HOLOCAUSTAL LIES about human nature and culture when judging people from the distant past (like 2019) who were following much more realistic and humane and moral cultures, or using real valid scientific facts like IMMUNITY. We pull down the statues of leaders who were actually on "our side" because ... because nothing. Just because.

In the other direction, much less dramatic: We FAIL to apply modern valid definitions of technology and animal types to past tech and animals.

Example in automobiles: We now define big station wagons (SUVs, minivans, etc) as passenger cars. Before 1990 these types were considered trucks. So we say that Willys "went out of business" in 1955, when in fact it seamlessly continued making these types of vehicles, and still makes these types of vehicles. Similarly with Reo and others. They switched from sedans to trucks, and continued making a variety of trucks including those big station wagons. But we say they "went out of business".

Example in animals: We now know that birds are dinosaurs. Some types of dinosaurs developed into reptiles, but most became birds. But we still say that dinosaurs "went out of business".

Non-avian? If it looks like a bird and nests like a bird, it's a bird. (Aside from my snark, this is an amazing fossil find, illustrated by a beautiful painting with a classic Chinese flavor. The only real painters in the modern world are working in paleontology.)

Neanderthals also "went out of business", even though plenty of evidence shows that they were just a tribe, intermarrying and leaving recognizable genes in the other tribes.

Where's the consistency above the contradiction? We refuse to recognize that Nature is continuous. We have to create DIGITAL BINARY DIVISIONS between areas of culture or time or tech that were not in fact divided, and we have to treat all REAL divisions (eg gender and caste) as uniform identical blobs.

We have to get every fucking thing wrong all the fucking time. We can't allow any sort of valid logic or facts or thought or culture to exist.
