Not prophetic
The realist side is pointing to a March 10 lockdown demand by Michael Pueyo, who stood to benefit from lockdowns. They're saying it's prophetic.

Nope. The full-fledged panic and calls for lockdowns were already open and widespread in media and Share Value circles in the middle of Feb. Everyone who stood to benefit was already "talking the book" a month before Mar 10.

For contrast, Jeffrey Tucker of AIER gets the pattern right as usual, but misses the bigger point:

Many of those intellectuals and groups who have for years claimed to "teach liberty" and represent the libertarian cause have for most of 2020 been silent and confused at best. I don't consider this betrayal. I consider it a deeply disturbing and tragic intellectual failing.

Actually it's not a betrayal OR a failing, it's just consistent and normal. Libertarians and globalists are THE SAME THING. The first and worst lockdowns are in Libertarian countries and states. Those Share Value demons who led the charge are all active and loud Libertarians. Bezos and Soros are Libertarians.

There's one huge and heroic exception to the pattern. Ron Paul, a Libertarian leader and also a DOCTOR, has been loudly pleading with both Libertarians and doctors to stick with REAL MEDICINE and REAL SCIENCE. Neither group listened. Both switched from liberty to tyranny, from curing to killing.

Calibrating: I've benefitted from the school closures. Courseware was viewed as a sales gimmick or optional accessory before 2020. Now it's an essential part of education. This meant a lot more work for me, ironing out bugs and incompatible systems that nobody had noticed before. It will also mean a lot more money. My royalty check next year will be significant, compared to meaningless checks for the last few years. Most of this increase was going to happen anyway, because the small profit-based publisher is actually SELLING the books and courseware, and SERVING the customers. The previous huge NYC Share Value publisher didn't need to sell or serve, so they didn't. Despite the vested interest, I haven't been privy to any secrets, and have been FEROCIOUSLY opposing the total destruction of science and knowledge and civilization and life, from the fucking start, without pausing or yielding.
