Convective thoughts about convection.
1. Do plants order up thunderstorms for their own benefit? Are thunderstorms the Domino's Pizza of the plant world?
Several years ago I was focusing on the descriptions given by Shepardson. Plants have pointy ends and pointy parts like pine needles so they can attract electrons. Plants eat electrons.
The same idea was expressed more pointedly in an 1838 article in Farmers Register. The author was recommending improvements in lightning rods.
About London we see conductors not thicker than a quill, applied to shot towers, tall chimneys, etc, whereas they ought to be tubes of at least an inch in diameter. The top ought to be formed in the manner of a branch of a tree, with five or six points of copper gilt, the extreme points being of pure gold or silver. Do plants create this potential by sucking more electrons, as a way of ordering up more water? = = = = = 2. More broadly, is the biosphere designed by and for plants? Plants are the real creators of order. Animals are parasites, consuming the order made by plants and transforming it into our own version of order. We give back some service in the form of CO2 and decaying bodies and pollination, but the plants still get the raw end of the deal when we look at a double-entry ledger of creation.
