More lively French art
Another item from the
1901 La Nature. An early use of modular housing.
Note especially the use of modularity to make
artistic and fancy architecture more affordable. Each piece included complicated scrollwork that would have been hugely expensive when custom-made.
Later uses of prefabrication were much more
basic.
This is also
another example of the
lively and almost animated art in
French scientific and technical literature, while English and US artists were much more basic.
