When does information move?
Michael Krieger, one of the best analysts of Deepstate frauds,
has decided to give up on persuading.
I understand. I gave up on persuading a long time ago. Discussions and debates and lectures and arguments never persuade. Nothing new or Deepstaty about this. Just a permanent fact.
Changes of viewpoint must wait for
NOW I SEE moments. Some of those moments are peculiar and personal, and some are nearly universal, like comparing unmasked rioters vs forcibly gagged normal citizens.
There's still a role for writers and explicators. After the NOW I SEE, minds are briefly open to new information. The new information must be AVAILABLE and GRASPABLE.
I figured this out a long time ago thanks to teaching in an experiential school. When students sit through lectures and discussions, no information moves. Lots of words and pictures move, but the words and pictures don't create new patterns in the student's mind and body.
Learning happens when the student is trying to accomplish a PURPOSE that means something to him. Doing a new job runs into frequent moments of frustration, moments of I CAN'T SEE HOW TO GET THERE. The frustration can be resolved by finding a new way of doing the particular task. NOW I SEE.
Information moves during NOW I SEE moments, whether small or large. Information moves when it's needed for PURPOSE. But it can't move unless it's available.
