Symbiosis
A couple months ago I was randomly venting about idiots who misperceive the current monstrosity....
Some of the commentators on the current tyranny consider genocidal monsters like Inslee and Newsom to be nerds gaining revenge on jocks. Not a good diagnosis. Nerds and politicians are distinct types from birth. Politicians are smart and get good grades, but they don't spend all their time doing science and math crap. Politicians spend their time exerting power. They don't need to gain revenge on jocks because they have always been allied with jocks against nerds.
For some reason I started thinking about this old caste setup again, and realized that it reflects a much more basic piece of Nature.
New thought: The politicians were allied with Jocks ... AND the nerds formed a sort of alliance with the Greasers. We helped the Greasers to pass tests and cheat on assignments, and in return the Greasers protected us from beatings by Greasers.
Hmm. Not really an alliance. More like a protection racket. Still, it was a mutually beneficial arrangement, a type of symbiosis.
Bigger thought:
Most symbiotic relationships are protection rackets.
The cleaner fish keeps the shark's skin free from barnacles and fungus, and in return the shark protects the cleaner fish from attack by the shark.
Nature is all about deceptions and rackets, and not just in the well-known war between pathogens and animals. There's deception built into our own system.
Trying to be honest is STUPID AND SUICIDAL. Survival requires finding and maintaining those mutually beneficial arrangements.
Christianity and "Democracy" are the biggest rackets of all. Both of these systems create a self-sustaining population of FOOLS who STUPIDLY believe in "honesty" and "accountability" and "elections" and "guilt" and "confession" and "forgiveness" and "checks and balances" and a thousand other SUICIDAL beliefs. The self-sustaining sucker pool is then instantly available to the priests and politicians who know how Nature works. Maximum efficiency for the psychopaths. No need to run through the stages of the con game, no need for Sucker Filters. A billion pre-processed and pre-programmed Suckers.
