Turkey thought it could fool Russia by mounting new attacks in Syria. Failed.
Now Saudi seems to think it can knock down Russia by cutting oil prices. Failed.
Why are both countries taking advantage of the current Swine Flu distraction to attack Russia? Russia is not the weak point. Russia is not participating in the panic, just taking rational steps to slow down travel.
There's a difference between these two stupid moves.
Turkey has attacked Russia OFTEN over many centuries and failed every time. Erdogan is inexcusably stupid to think he could succeed this time.
In the '80s Saudi pulled the same oil-price trick on Russia, acting on our orders, and it worked then. So MBS isn't quite as intensely or unforgivably stupid. He simply fails to understand basic economics, which is also Islamic economics. Russia can't be knocked down this time because Russia has massive SAVINGS in both money capital and skill capital. Saudi is running on Western rules, all debt and no skills, and has completely abandoned and forgotten God's rules.
EDIT: Thanks to Wolfstreet as usual for clarifying the Saudi move. Count on Wolf for accuracy and clarity. It's not Saudi economically attacking Russia. It's Saudi AND Russia working together to break US fracking, which is fragile and unprofitable. Fracking is like Tesla or Uber, just a clever way of pulling in dumb money. This makes vastly more sense!
