One word
Listening to a
Feb 1945 episode of Great Gildersleeve. Gildy is trying to grab the newspaper from his kids because he wants to check the war news. "I wanna see what the Russians are doing! By golly, those Russians are unstoppable!"
Without context a modern listener would assume Gildy was tracking an imminent threat. In fact he was cheering our best allies who were finishing off the Krauts.
Cheering for Russia was a common theme in entertainment during the war.
Explains why Deepstate had to work EXTRA HARD to re-establish the Russians as enemies in '46. The Kennan long telegram laid out the agenda. FBI would create subversive "progressives" who were "serving Russia".
What changed from then to now? Only one word. Now FBI creates subversive "conservatives" who are "serving Russia."
What a difference a word makes!
