Moring
When writing about "rights" vs duties, I'm thinking of a quote from Doris Lessing:
If you're meant to do it, do it now. Conditions are always impossible.
Bumped into the quote recently on a
support page for vestibular problems. I hadn't read Lessing before; I somehow acquired the idea that she was one of those suicide-generating poets like Plath. After reading a
long list of quotes from Lessing, I apologize. She's the opposite of suicidal. She's a firm realist and a firm defender of duties in the Sharia sense.
