Losing his judgment
Krugman seems to be losing his mind. His
theories have always been perfectly stupid, but now he's showing a peculiar lack of judgment about what he
says in public.
He's paid to produce stupid murderous evil monstrous genocidal wicked theories. That's what experts do. The crucial difference between an expert and an ordinary psychopath is that the expert
sounds authoritative and intelligent when he spouts idiocy. Now Krugman has stopped sounding intelligent, thus stopped doing his job as an expert. Three recent incidents follow the same pattern.
A few months ago he said "Debt is money we owe to ourselves". This is demonstrably false, and it's also a line that really dumb people often quote when calling talk shows. Demonstrably false is Krugman's specialty, but an expert doesn't want to sound like
Bill From Rio Linda.
Last month,
he received spam email about the blockchain fraud, didn't recognize that it was spam email, and didn't recognize that blockchain is a fraud. Worst of all, he didn't recognize that an expert shouldn't reveal his failure to recognize frauds
in his own discipline.
Today,
he says that someone is using his IP address for illegal purposes. If this really happens, you work with your internet security company to handle it QUIETLY. You don't go public with a claim that instantly raises doubts about your own legality.
I'm sure Krugman isn't doing anything illegal, but
I hadn't even thought about the possibility before. Now I'm thinking about it.
Terrible judgment.
