Tired eyes bring truth
Strether at NakedCapitalism is keeping up with the various D candidates. He notes:
Inbox: The @BernieSanders campaign has ratified a union contract with its bargaining unit of workers.
Strether commented: I just don’t understand why all the candidates aren’t doing this.

My eyes are older than usual today after proofreading a few hundred HTML files, so I read the above as:
Inbox: The @BernieSanders campaign has ratified a union contract with its bargaining unit of voters.
Ha ha.... No, not ha ha. Actually that would be an EXCELLENT idea. Organize your voters into a real old-fashioned UNION or GUILD, with REAL benefits for the voters who pay their union dues and vote the right way.
In fact this is how politics used to work, especially in big cities. Voters paid their dues to the councilman's machine and got real benefits in terms of preferential snowplowing and pothole fixing and jobs for their kids. It was a real CONTRACT with two-way benefits and two-way accountability.
