Both are idiots.
The 'libertarians' and Repooflicans are mocking AOC for suggesting that the IRS should figure your taxes for you. They assume, of course, that IRS will steal all your income, which is what AOC supposedly wants.
In fucking fact the IRS will ALREADY figure your tax for you, if you have ordinary W2 wages and no itemized deductions. AOC's suggestion is ignorant.
It's on page 38 of the 1040 instructions.

See chapter 29 of Pub. 17 for details, including who is eligible and what to do. If you have paid too much, we will send you a refund. If you didn't pay enough, we will send you a bill.
And in fucking fact the IRS is honest and mechanical. They won't overcharge or undercharge. They don't have the time or manpower to cheat on hundreds of millions of returns. (The division of IRS that approves requests for tax-exempt organizations DOES have the time to play political games.)

Both "sides" think they're making a point, but they're only telling us that they've never figured their own taxes, never tried to be honest. They've always paid an accountant to guarantee ZERO TAX ZERO TAX ZERO TAX.
