Saving vs betting yet again
As usual a set of headlines at RCS provide an Asked-Answered sequence.
In this case we have one question and two classes of answers.
= = = = =
Question: Why does science fail to predict?
= = = = =
The answers squared in brownish are pretty good examples of the problem.
1. World without work: Won't happen, and bad idea if it did happen. People are intended and designed to work. We need to be useful. We need to MAKE THINGS.
2. Why technology favors tyranny. Nuff said.
3. Math answers questions we haven't thought of... but math SPECIFICALLY REFUSES to solve real problems of real people RIGHT FUCKING NOW.

The three answers I've squared in red are SERIOUS, and focus on
saving vs betting. I'll reorganize them to make the point.
4. How to use the LHC to search for "dark matter". The LHC is the magnum opus of Big Science. Its basic purpose is to obliterate the universe, but until it can reach the proper goal, it's spending BILLIONS OF DOLLARS "searching" for absolute fantasies and delusions, THINGS THAT DO NOT EXIST.
6. Mysterious "dark force". Same as 4. Spending billions on a PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE BIZARRE LOONY SCHIZOPHRENIC PSYCHOTIC DELUSION WHICH CANNOT POSSIBLY EXIST.
5. Brazil's science museum burns. Why? Because nobody was willing to spend ONE MILLION on fucking sprinkler systems. Brazil's government is always messy, and it has been occupied in recent years fighting Soros-inspired rebellions. The same Sorosians who LOVE the LHC because it's a bet on total obliteration can't POSSIBLY spend money to PRESERVE AND SAVE AND STORE a hugely valuable set of PHYSICAL DATA for the future.
= = = = =
Science SHOULDN'T be predicting the future anyway. Science SHOULD be making life better for ACTUAL PEOPLE DOING ACTUAL JOBS RIGHT FUCKING NOW. Science abandoned its proper role a long time ago, and instead predicts a future that can't exist because science's main task is ELIMINATING THE FUTURE.
Come to think of it, I guess that's logical. When your prime directive is to obliterate the future, your specific predictions are going to be wrong by definition. There will be no specifics in a black hole. Just nothing.
