More fake surprise
ZH wants us to get weeweed up about a Facebook patent for subliminal triggers. Supposedly FB would insert ultrasonic audio codes in TV ads, which would cause your iPhone to turn on and start monitoring you.
After all these years, why do we still think these activities require special triggers or "laws" or "warrants" or "permission"?
The only permission is EXISTENCE.
NSA has ALWAYS monitored EVERYTHING that CAN be monitored. If there is a PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE method to spy on X, NSA is spying all the time on X. If there is no PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE way to monitor X, then NSA is not monitoring X; instead, NSA is working feverishly to develop a way to monitor X. Such as the web. Such as iPhones. Such as web-connected thermostats.
If you have a web-connected device with a microphone, it is monitoring you all the time. It doesn't need special signals. The fact that the device is always ready to respond to your commands TELLS YOU that the device is listening all the time. This is BASIC LOGIC. If it wasn't listening all the time, you'd need to flip an actual switch before speaking your commands.
