Cerebdipity
I love it when the brain, normally as secretive as CIA, accidentally leaks one of its
methods. This happens fairly often in dreams, especially in the peculiar transient condition between dream and sudden waking.
Here's a rare moment in full wakedom.
On this morning's walk I was taking advantage of the rhythm to work on software problems as usual. Rhythm seems to sync out the unnecessary thoughts and leave the workspace free for productive solving. As I passed one familiar house my eye caught something salient, glanced over, and immediately dismissed the salient item.
Oh yeah, that's just the good old rocks.

WAIT. STOP. STAND STILL AND LOOK.
It wasn't
just the good old standard rocks which I had "always seen", it was a huge pile of boulders in a front yard. A car-size pile of furniture-size boulders. Not an ordinary sight, not a familiar sight.
The nonchalant
just the rocks was parallel to a dream habit. The dream scripter creates a new situation that has never been seen before, and instantly mirrors it backwards into a long chain of repeated "memories", each seemingly independent. This event is just #43 in a long chain of similar and highly ordinary events.
Now I've caught the same stack-stuffing action in wakeworld. The peculiar sight was instantly jammed into a
Permanent And Familiar slot, and the necessary documentation to verify its familiarity was instantly generated.
Just like CIA generating a cover identity with a lifetime of fake credentials.

Later for clarity: This is not the same as deja vu. In deja vu you focus on the currently perceived thing or event with a strong feeling that you've been here before. In this instance the perceived thing was instantly
removed from focus "because" it was a known and familiar part of the landscape. I could see the mind creating the familiarity.
And an
earlier mention of the phenomenon in dreams and its use by Deepstate.
