Same hot water, same point
Some local sports figure got in hot water for saying
Nothing new about the hot water. Volney Mathison, discussed often here, was a shipboard radio operator in the earliest days of wireless, then wrote fiction and non-fiction about shipboard radio for several years. One of his 1922 articles brought some hot water from a similar intentional misunderstanding:

The point is simple. Warrior mode is not the same as farm mode or office mode, and the warrior type is innately different from the farm or office type.
In the crudest sense, women are the spoils of war. Slightly more civilized, warriors are fighting with men and against men, and they're fighting for women.
Football is a trivial waste of effort, but nevertheless football is performed by warrior types operating in warrior mode.

Women don't know football- most guys barely do. Stop coming into male spaces and demanding respect.. guys care about the substance of things not the appearence. Just because networks like a sexy sideline reporter for you to look at doesn't mean cam is sexist for questioning the authenticity of her game knowledge- he was laughing because she was fed that question like most of her kind are. If women are so knowledgeable with a game they can't play let them do play by play or color commentary.. but no, and women don't even see that it's not cam but the network that's sexist, or just can't lie about the truth. Women don't really know the game- they are incapable.Part of the hot water is valid, part isn't. "Incapable of knowing" goes too far, but the rest makes sense.
