Aphid thought
Thought while watching a few aphids (still no swarm yet):
If we're really secular and truly pro-science, we should be strict about it. You want to call yourself asexual or non-binary or intersexual? Prove it by reproducing asexually. Pop out a clone of yourself, or split in two by mitosis. Then you can call yourself asexual.
If you can't clone or bud or split, then you have to pick a more honest term. Male who likes to dress in female clothes or vice versa. Nothing wrong with either preference. Nature enjoys disguises.
Don't be a bully. Don't force the rest of us to DENY SCIENCE by going along with delusional nonsense.
Later today: Temp reached upper 60s, got a fair number of actual aphids. Maybe this is as close as we'll get to Aphid Day this year. Fall is continuing the Rex tradition for this year. After all-90 summer, all-60 fall. Not complaining.... all 60s is NICE. FINALLY. But it means the aphids aren't getting their usual Last Warmth Signal.
