Back in the saddle
Here we go again. After two years of full "retirement", it's back to "semi" mode.
In other words, it's courseware time. This is a brand new project, not a revision of Old Faithful. Hopefully I can reuse some of the converters and code pieces that I developed last time. If so, it should go a lot faster than last time. If not, things get tricky.
This project is returning to the small publisher who began the whole thing 20 years ago. For the last 10 years or so I was working under a huge NYC outfit that spent most of their energy on LBO/debt/bankruptcy. Remains to be seen if the small stable non-NYC publisher will be easier to work with. Crossing fingers.
Few days later, after talking with them: MUCH better. The small publisher is still the same REAL BUSINESS as 20 years ago. NYC was solely concerned with Corporate Imperatives And Cost Cutting to satisfy the LBO Master. Making the product and selling the product were way down the priority list, and selling the product dropped off the list entirely when LBO Master JPMorgan ordered them to cut out most of their subject areas. Small real business is solely concerned with making an excellent product and selling it at a profit. I can get into that.
