Why didn't it happen?
This item in a
1947 trade journal caught my senile attention because I was still thinking of
the name 'Price'.... but turns out to be an interesting question. Answering the question brings an important insight.
1947 marked the founding of
postwar Globalism, uniting CIA and Leftists to serve Bankers. Byron Price thought he was helping to push the wave of American control.
His point was essentially:
Shortwave is a direct advertising medium to foreign countries. If we're going to export our stuff to foreign countries, we should be advertising our stuff on shortwave. We shouldn't be thinking of shortwave as pure government propaganda.
Price thought exporting was the most important PURPOSE of Globalism. If exporting actually was the most important PURPOSE of Globalism, his request would have been answered massively. Networks would have rushed to build new commercial SW stations so they could carry advertising for exported products.
Nope. Never happened. Why?
BECAUSE EXPORTING WAS NEVER THE PURPOSE OF GLOBALISM.
We had always been an active exporter. As Globalism grew stronger, we switched from exporter to importer, and
lost our industries and skills.
Globalists required America to be the CONSUMER, not the PRODUCER. Globalism serves the bankers, who must be the ONLY PRODUCER. Banks manufacture "money" through debt, and consumers buy stuff from OTHER COUNTRIES. Obviously consumers need to have some kind of income, but the income that arises from REAL VALUE MANUFACTURING is the gateway drug for the HORRIBLE SIN OF SAVING, which is a fate worse than death for Globalists.
