Marissa kills Yahoo, laughs to the bank
Yahoo is basically closing down.
Now that Marissa has finished sabotaging the original company, she's being kicked out with a golden parachute, and what's left will become a patent holding company.
LBOs and sabotage for personal gain have always been goals of big business.
In earlier eras anti-trust laws tried to hold down this type of sabotage.
Natural monopolies are a proper part of business. As company or employee, you want to do a job that nobody else can do, or you want to do a job in places or times or situations where nobody else is willing or available.
Forcible monopolies are not a proper part of business. Using bully power or union violence or forced migration or outsourcing or LBO power or bought regulations to kill companies is IMPROPER and USED TO BE illegal.
